BENTON – Two people were involved in a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Sam Pyle Bridge Road near Lake Moses in Benton.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon, deputies responded to the scene at 7:45 a.m. and learned that a 16-year-old driver and her sibling were traveling south on Sam Pyle Bridge Road when she went off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, and lost control of her 2011 Dodge Caliber.
As a result, the vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and entered Lake Moses.
Both the driver and passenger were able to get out of the vehicle and swim to the shoreline before the vehicle was submerged. There were no injuries reported. The vehicle was removed from the lake and towed from the scene.
