MT. VERNON – Mt. Vernon Police say three people are in custody in connection with an early Monday morning homicide that is still under investigation.

Police along with Mt. Vernon Fire and Litton’s Ambulance responded to the 600 block of South 15th Street around 5:50 a.m. after getting a report about a man being murdered.

Police investigators arrived and two people were taken into custody with a third person later identified.

Police along with the Jefferson County High-Risk Team carried out a search warrant in the 500 block of South 17th Street around 8:15 Monday night and took the third person into custody.

No names were released.
