BUNCOMBE – Social workers and faith leaders are at Buncombe Grade School today following the weekend loss of a 6th grader in a side-by-side accident.

Buncombe Superintendent Jamie Kerley posted on the school district’s Facebook page that Brayden Ames lost his life in the accident Sunday afternoon. Two others on the vehicle were treated for their injuries and released to their families.

The superintendent says Brayden’s mother, Ambyer Ames, is the district’s dedicated 5th/6th-grade teacher. The district shares in her and her husband Travis’s loss and pray for them in these most difficult days ahead.

School was in session today in Buncombe.
