MARION – A Carterville man was recently arrested and charged for meth possession and stealing a vehicle in Marion.
According to a press release on the Marion Police Department’s Facebook page Tuesday, police received a complaint late last Thursday night of a stolen vehicle that happened in the 1000 block of North Granite Street.
The victim told police that he went outside, started his Ford Mustang and then had to go back inside his home briefly. When he returned, he saw his vehicle was missing.
Marion Police officers and detectives saturated the area to search for the stolen vehicle. Within a few minutes, a witness said that they saw a Ford Mustang trying to drive through a small opening in a fence in the 900 block of North Bentley Street.
Upon arrival at the mentioned home, officers located the stolen Mustang and the suspect, 31-year-old Adam D. Duncan. Duncan was placed into custody without incident. Duncan was also found to be in possession of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Duncan was charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Possession of Methamphetamine.
During Duncan’s first appearance in court, his bond was set at $20,000 with a preliminary hearing set for April.
