CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police officers and detectives made two arrests in reference to the active homicide investigation that took place in the 700 block of South Lewis Lane Friday night.
According to Carbondale Police, 37-year-old Dewayne E. Jones and 24-year-old Jeffrey J. Harris, both of Carbondale, are lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
Jackson County State’s Attorney Joseph A. Cervantez reviewed the investigation and authorized charges for both subjects. Jones is charged with Murder, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon. Harris is charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon and Aggravated Battery.
The identity of the victim continues to be withheld pending notifications. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
