MARION – A Johnston City man has been arrested and cited for drug-related offenses following a recent traffic stop in Williamson County.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, sheriff’s deputies Friday saw a vehicle commit Illinois Vehicle Code violations and conducted a traffic stop.
While conducting the traffic stop, an assisting K9 unit conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle which resulted in a positive alert to the presence of the odor of an illegal substance. A search of the vehicle located a controlled substance, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Deputies arrested and cited Martin P. Truran of Johnston City with Methamphetamine Possession, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is currently being held in the Williamson County Jail.
